One of the special things about the Laughton Greenwood is the range of habitats it includes. There are open areas, or rides, where commercial conifer plantations have given way to native woodland to tempt tempt birds, butterflies, plant life (and people!) into the light filled spaces. There are densely wooded areas that feel still and secret, and there are wetland areas near a vast pond where the tree trunks are clothed in bright green mosses.
The biodiversity of the land continues to expand, thanks to the work of our members, volunteers and key partners.
